EVERY EMAIL MATTERS. WE JUST NEED 10 MINUTES OF YOUR TIME NOW.

Six million dollars has already been raised through grants thanks to people like you supporting our cause. State legislature is seriously considering millions more in funding for grant programs that would support the acquisition of the Wayne Golf Course land.

Right now we have $1m outlined in the Senate Capital Budget, but there is a risk that no Capital Budget passes this year. We are counting on the $1m to make the final purchase affordable for the city.

It’s a critical time for the house and senate chairs to hear how important this is to our communities! They need to understand that the public cares about this land and they should support funding for the Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program, the Aquatic Lands Enhancement Account, and the Floodplains by Design program at high enough levels to fund the Wayne/Sammamish Regional Park grant proposals. In addition to these competitive grants, Sen. Palumbo has proposed local and community projects funding for the acquisition. The legislature is scheduled to complete work on the budget by July 1st so they need to hear from us now.

Email Body:

Dear Legislators,

I’m a resident of insert your home city. I am writing to ask for your support for the Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program, the Aquatic Lands Enhancement Account, and the Floodplains by Design program at high enough levels to fund the Wayne/Sammamish Regional Park Grant proposals for the Wayne Golf Course land in Bothell, WA.

We need your support in the Capital Budget so we can acquire this precious land for recreation, education, and conservation. We need to take action to fund projects like the Wayne Golf Course to improve salmon populations and the overall health of our rivers as well as provide a much-needed park for the booming population of Bothell and surrounding areas.

Please work to increase funding so we can start the restoration process and create an iconic park on the river for the public.

Optionally insert an additional paragraph about why the Wayne Golf Course land is important to you. If you need help, you can find some ideas here: Our Mission

Sincerely,

Your name here.
