About OneBothell
was founded in January 2015 as a grass-roots movement to prevent the development of a beloved open space in Bothell, the Wayne Golf Course. The organization’s founders believed the acreage comprising Wayne was too precious merely to stand by and watch it disappear. Within just a few months, the voice of OneBothell became loud and unified as nearly two-thousand local residents rallied to join the cause. Ultimately, Forterra purchased the land on an interim basis and facilitated King County conservation grants and the City of Bothell’s purchase to preserve the Wayne land as open space for future generations.
OneBothell now works with the City as a conduit to the community— to confer, advise, and advocate for conservation of green space, as well as actively participating in habitat restoration and education on the Wayne land. Whether organizing volunteer groups to help with projects or spreading the word to incite enthusiasm and support, OneBothell stands ready to make its goals become a reality for the entire region!
