OneBothell has invited Dr. Dursula Valdez to speak on local birds in the Bothell area!

You can read more about Dr. Valdez’s teaching and research on her profile page: https://www.uwb.edu/ias/faculty-and-staff/ursula-valdez

Join Dr. Ursula Valdez, an avian ecologist and conservationist at University of Washington Bothell, for a bird walk in Blyth Park and the new park on the site of the former Wayne Golf Course. Dr. Valdez will share information on the natural history and ecology of local birds observed during the walk.

February 26th, 10 a.m., please find us at the Blyth Park Pavilion, look for the OneBothell Sign! Families welcome! Walks are the last Saturday of every month at 10 a.m., and should last about an hour.

During the walk, we will look for winter residents in terrestrial and aquatic areas of the park, and we will observe their activity. To engage further, we invite the public to take notes and make simple sketches that are helpful for bird identification even for beginners. Bring a notebook and binoculars if you can for the best experience, but feel free to just come along and learn about birds if you do not want to bother. We will have some binoculars available to borrow.
