A wooden trail bridge through a park.

Come join us for a walk and talk about the history of the Sammamish River though Wayne Park. Local historians Sue Kienast and Margaret Turcott will discuss what went on in the years leading up to the former golf course at Wayne becoming Bothell’s newest park.

We’ll be starting at the former clubhouse for the golf course off of 96th Ave NE. Address is approximately 16721 96th Ave NE. Overflow parking is available in the Red Brick Road Park parking area across the trail from the clubhouse.

September 25, 10 a.m.

All ages are welcome, as are dogs on leash. We will be following King County COVID guidelines.

Over the next few months, we’ll be working on some more exciting walks. The schedule is tentative. Walks are the last Saturday of every month at 10 a.m.

  • October 30, a talk about salmon and the return of Kokanee, until recently thought to be extinct here.
  • November 27, a repeat of the geology talk since the heat in June kept many people away.
