20 years ago, King County and the City of Bothell laid the groundwork to preserve Wayne Golf Course land by funding and protecting a portion of the front 9 under a conservation easement. The intent of this easement was to provide the community of Bothell the opportunity to preserve this land at a later date. In 2014, a group of community members formed the nonprofit OneBothell and rallied to raise awareness as this land was under the threat of development. Together with community members, OneBothell, King County, Forterra NW, and the City of Bothell have been working to preserve this land for future generations. Today OneBothell was humbled to receive the Green Globe Award from King County for being a leader in land preservation. This award belongs to the community of people that has supported this project. We thank all of you.
